Seasonal employment for 3-9 months
Temporary employment for genuinely seasonal work - with honest advice on when a different route serves you better.

Overview
This route covers temporary employment for activities performed seasonally - most commonly in hospitality and restaurants, as well as agriculture and forestry.
The procedure closely resembles the long-term Visa D process: the document package goes to the Migration Office, which - with the Employment Agency's assistance - issues an opinion on granting the worker access to the Bulgarian labour market.
Honest advice: because the procedure is slow relative to the short stay, in most situations we recommend an alternative - long-term employment for 1-3 years, or seasonal employment up to 90 days with an extension option. We'll tell you plainly which fits your case.
How the process works
- 1
Consultation and route check
We review your season, roles and timeline - and confirm whether 3-9 months is genuinely your best route or an alternative would serve you better.
- 2
Documents and filing
We prepare the complete document package and submit it to the Migration Office.
- 3
Opinion and visa
With the Employment Agency's assistance, an opinion on labour-market access is issued, after which the worker applies for the Type D visa.
